The governor asked the Sorong district civil servants to go out in the field to see the community's difficulties

Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw asked ASN in the Sorong Regency Government to go down to the villages to see the difficulties faced by the community.

"I have been around areas in West Papua Province, there are still areas where basic services to the community have not gone well, so ASN should not only be in the office but go directly to the field to see the difficulties faced by the community," said Waterpauw while leading the apple in the Sorong district government, Tuesday.

The governor said that ASN is a public servant. Appointed and paid by the government to serve the community not for personal gain.

He explained that people need services, especially basic services such as education, health, clean water, lighting so that they can live in peace and comfort.

According to him, if the ASN just sits in the office, they will never know the burdens of people's lives. The difficulties experienced by the people in the villages.

It is said that President Jokowi only went to the field to see the challenges and difficulties faced by people throughout Indonesia. What President Jokowi does must be an example for ASN in the regions.

Because in the field we can find out all the problems and immediately find a way out so that services for the community are in line with expectations.

One example of my visit to Soop Island which is only 20 minutes from the city of Sorong, basic services are not going well. The teacher's official house is empty, there are no teachers on duty on the grounds that there is no electricity. This is a real example of the difficulties faced by the community.

Therefore, Waterpauw requested that the Head of Regional Apparatus Organizations in Sorong Regency together with employees schedule a trip to the villages once a week to see people's lives firsthand.

"So if there is a problem, they immediately look for solutions and solutions so that people really feel that the government is here for the people," added Waterpauw.
