Disperindag Biak builds People's Market Darfuar Samofa

The Government of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, through the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) built the Darfuar People's Market in Samofa District through the assistance task of the Ministry of Trade in 2022.

"The budget allocation for developing the Darfuar People's Market through the 2022 State Budget assistance task is Rp. 3 billion," said the Head of the Biak Industry and Trade Office, Yubelius Usior, in Biak, Sunday.

He said that the people's market as a driving force for the economy in the region has a strategic function as well as for proximity to the social and cultural aspects of the local community.

Usior hopes that the people's market can develop comprehensively and holistically so that it can compete with the increasing number of modern shopping centers and shops.

The development/revitalization of trade facilities through the co-administration fund is a strategic step to increase the role of the trade sector in restoring economic conditions in Biak Numfor Regency.

"Assistance tasks are assignments from the Central Government to autonomous regions to carry out part of the government affairs which are under the authority of the Central Government or from the provincial government to regencies/municipalities to carry out some of the government affairs which are under the authority of the regions," he said.

Based on the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 248 of 2010, co-administration is an assignment from the government to a region and/or village or other designation with the obligation to report and be responsible for its implementation to the one who assigned it.

With funding sourced from the APBN, it is allocated for physical activities that produce outputs that add value to government assets.
