With the Special Autonomy (Otsus) funds provided by the Central Government, the Government of Papua has demonstrated its seriousness and commitment in improving Papuan human resources (HR). As a result, Papuan children can attend schools in various countries, such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and China. Papua Governor Lukas Enembe in Jayapura, Papua, Saturday (28/9) released as many as 26 Papuan children to get scholarships to study in Russia.

"This is a breath of fresh air amid hot news related to what is happening in the country today, especially in Papua and West Papua," said Papua Language Institute (PLI) founder Samuel Tabuni in his written statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

He considered the Papuan government had shown its seriousness and commitment in increasing Papuan human resources (HR). As a result, Papuan children can attend schools in various countries, such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and China.

Samuel is one of the figures credited as the advisor behind the Inspiring Young Papua Movement, where he holds the position of General Counsel. Sam, Samuel's nickname, encourages Papuan children to excel and continue to inspire.

Samuel Tabuni is a young Papuan native from Nduga, an area in the Central Mountains, Papua Province, and is a traditional child of the La Pago region. As one of the pioneers in developing the international quality of Papuan children, Sam recently met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace, Jakarta.

Meanwhile, West Papua youth figure who is also the founder of Kitong Bisa, Billy Mambrasar thanked PLI and especially Sam Tabuni. "I thank Kaka Sam Tabuni and the Governor of Papua for encouraging and educating Papuan children to keep going forward," Billy said.
