The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) believes the completion of a number of sports venues to support the holding of the XX or 2020 National Sports Week (PON) in Papua will be completed on time.

Acting Deputy for Sports Performance Improvement at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Chandra Bhakti, who has just reviewed the readiness of the Papuan PON venue, said that overall, the venue's progress was 80%. In fact, he said, there were several venues that were ready to be used for the country's sports party.

"We believe that it will be on time for the venue to be built both by the regional government through the APBD and the Ministry of PUPR through the State Budget," Chandra told Media Indonesia on Monday (1/27).

Chandra said, from the results of his visit it was found that the venue for the process was still under 50 percent, one of which was a race track in Marauke. "But I believe it will be finished, let alone the support from the local government is extraordinary," he explained.

For security, he said, there is no need to worry about it during the implementation. Chandra said that Papuans were very enthusiastic about holding a PON in their place.
