Police Headquarters Ready To Send Additional Personnel To Safeguard PON XX Papua |
National Police Chief Gen. Idham Azis has given the green light if the Papua Regional Police want to strengthen security. Police Headquarters is ready to send additional personnel to safeguard National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua.
"During a working visit in Papua a few days ago, the Chief of Police had stated that whatever members the Papua Police Chief requested would be fulfilled," Inspector General Paulus said in Timika, Friday (2/21/2020).
It is known, the Papua Regional Police has prepared 4,500 personnel for the security of Papua PON XX which will take place in four cities, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Timika, and Merauke.
Inspector General Paulus stressed that the implementation of Papua PON XX must be successful. Previously, the Police Public Relations Division Argo Yuwono invited all Papuans to help maintain security during the holding of PON XX Papua.
Argo said that the security situation in Papua when organizing the PON XX would be a benchmark for all parties, including investors. Because it will have an impact on efforts to improve the welfare of the people of Papua.
Joint personnel will guard the athletes' lodging, placed in shopping centers that will be visited by athletes, officials and supporters from each region and other strategic places such as tourist sites and others.
