5 Jokowi's Priority Programs That Must Be Remembered by Regional Heads

Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian opened the 2020 Development Planning Technical Coordination Meeting (Kortekrenbang) in Surabaya, East Java, Wednesday (4/3). In his direction, Tito reminded President Jokowi's five priority programs to regional leaders. The Kortekrenbang was attended by a number of regional heads. As regional heads in the region of Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua and East Java.

Tito talked about President Jokowi's five priority programs. First, building superior Human Resources (HR). Second, continue infrastructure development. Third, deregulation or simplification of regulation. Fourth, bureaucratic reform or simplification. Fifth, economic transformation from natural resource-based to modern manufacturing and services.

"But this is also translated into a bit more detail by Bappenas into the annual Government Work Plan (RKP) this year. From Bappenas, I forgot 8 or 10 main targets," said Minister of Home Affairs Tito.

Tito explained, despite the decentralization of regional autonomy, the Law states that the President is the Head of Government responsible for national development. So regional development is a sub-system of national development.

"If we deepen the five visions of the President, what I have actually captured on various occasions with him: the main root of the problem is the demographic bonus. There is a high growth rate," he said.

The Minister of Home Affairs added, currently Indonesia's population has reached 267 million. "And will that be a problem? Yes. That will be a potential that will benefit our nation. But also if mismanagement can be a problem for this nation," explained the Minister of Home Affairs.

It is known, Kortekrenbang is part of a series of annual planning activities both at the Center and in the regions. The aim of the Kortekrenbang in 2020 is to establish synchronization of program plans and activities between the government and regional governments as set out in the Regional Development Work Plan (RKPD) and Government Work Plan (RKP) in 2021 in order to support the achievement of national development targets.

In the agenda of the Ministry of Home Affairs together with the Ministry of National Development Planning Agency, the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, KPK Chairman Firly Bahuri, Bappenas representative and also the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa. In addition, a total of 1000 participants from all regions in Eastern Indonesia attended. Including the Regional Secretary, Inspector General to the head of the local area.
