The Ministry of Health disbursed a budget of Rp 15 billion specifically for malaria vector control in Papua, especially in the four PON XX venue districts in 2020.
Head of the Malaria Subdin Prevention Section of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Desriana Elisabet Ginting said the Ministry of Health supported the implementation of XX PON in Papua, including in the form of decon funds managed by the province to support the malaria eradication program.
"Specifically for financial support only, around Rp. 15 billion from the Ministry of Health is disbursed to control malaria vectors, especially in the four PON XX venue districts," Desriana said in Jayapura, Tuesday (3/3/2020).
In these four districts, he said, someone had already sprayed residues indoors or IRS. Spraying houses including controlling malaria vectors, so that the mosquitoes that stick to die instantly.
In addition to financial assistance, the Ministry of Health also provides mosquito nets. This mosquito net is intended for all districts in Papua, but it is preferred for the four districts that are PON venues.
"Anti-malaria mosquito nets for the four PON venue districts have been received, all they have to do is distribute them to the community, for the total amount I don't memorize," he said.
The Ministry of Health prioritizes the four districts that will become the PON XX venue by 2020. The four districts that will become the PON XX venue will be Merauke Regency, Mimika Regency, Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City. Other technical support is coordinating with the Papua Provincial Health Office, together with Unicef.
