Covid-19 Emergency Hospital To Be Functioned Immediately

The Muara Tami hospital that was built by the Jayapura City Government will be a special hospital for the community in Papua.

Type C hospital which is located far from the crowds and on the country's border with Papua New Guinea will be a joint breakthrough between Jayapura City Government and the Papua Provincial Government in a fast motion to deal with corona covid-19 patients.

Deputy Mayor of Jayapura, Rustan Saru, said that the construction of the hospital continues to be carried out and the remaining supply of clean water and electricity.

"There are around 100 patients who can be accommodated in this hospital. We will calculate and record any urgent needs in the acceleration of the operations of the corona covid-19 emergency hospital, "Rustan said, Saturday (3/28/2020).

Rustan said on Tuesday next week a joint meeting between Jayapura City Government and the Papua Provincial Government would be held to calculate the acceleration needs of the emergency hospital in Jayapura.

"Including will be considered for medical personnel who work in the hospital, so that it can work optimally," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Provincial Health Service, Robby Kayame was grateful for the Jayapura City Government's participation in setting up a corona covid-19 emergency hospital for Papuans in general.

"We still hope that there is no surge in covid patients in Papua. Later this hospital will focus on mildly and moderately ill patients. While for seriously ill patients, they will still be treated at the Jayapura II General Hospital, "he said.

Papua Health Office hopes that emergency hospital work can be completed in 1-2 weeks, so that it can be used immediately and with the patient's focus in the special hospital co-19, the treatment is more optimal.
