4 Regions in Papua Become Serious Attention of COVID-19 Task Force

Three districts and one city in Papua received serious attention from the Papua Province's COVID-19 Handling Task Force. The four regions namely, Mimika Regency, Merauke Regency, Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City.

Papua Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force Spokesperson said the four districts received serious attention because the number of positive patients and patients under surveillance continues to increase.

"Regencies that receive serious attention from us, especially in the health sector, namely Jayapura City, Mimika Regency, Merauke Regency and Jayapura Regency. "These four districts experienced a significant increase in positive patients and PDP," he told reporters in Jayapura City, Monday (6/4) afternoon

It is said, for Jayapura City there are currently 12 positive cases of co-19, where currently 8 people are in care, 3 are cured and 1 patient has died.

"One person who died based on the results of laboratory tests tested positive for COVID-19. And the victim was buried this morning at 11.00 CET, "he said.

Furthermore, Mimika Regency contained 8 positive patients with COVID-19. Where 7 treatments and 1 died.

Then in Merauke Regency there were 4 positive cases, of which 2 were treated and 2 cases were cured.

Meanwhile, to date the number of COVID-19 positive patients in Papua is 26 cases, of which 5 patients have recovered and 2 have died. While the number of Patients Under Supervision (PDP) is 45 cases. And the number of Monitoring Persons (ODP) was 5,852 cases.
