Papua Governor Prepares Co-19 Mass Test Fund

Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, SIP, MH has prepared funds to conduct a mass test for co-19 or mass blood survey for co-19 in Papua. This was conveyed by Spokesperson of the Papua Province Covid-19 Prevention Handling Control Task Force, doctor Silwanus Sumule.

Silwanus said that his party had discussed together with the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Papua, if the co-19 pandemic was widespread in Bumi Cenderawasih. So, the Papua Provincial Government has prepared funds to buy a rapid test on how to conduct a co-19 mass test.

"So we need a thorough examination of approximately 50,000 rapid tests," said Silwanus Sumule during a press conference via Zoom Streaming Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Papua Province, Skyland, Jayapura City, Wednesday (15/04/2020).

He expressed his appreciation to the Covid-19 Task Force in Central Mamberamo Regency (Mamteng), supported by the local church, conducted a rapid test on 150 of the People in Monitoring (ODP).

"They already know who is in contact with the positive patient Covid-19, which we are currently caring for in Wamena," he said.

According to him, his office is trying to help rapid tests, so that the Covid-19 Task Force Mamteng district immediately conducts another examination.

"Maybe in the future there are additional cases, but the important thing is we know when we find additional cases that we must immediately help them and make sure they get treatment," he added.
