President Jokowi Officially Prohibits Going Home for All Citizens

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially takes the policy of prohibiting going home in the midst of the corona virus pandemic or Covid-19. Homecoming prohibition applies to all groups of people without exception.

"After the ban on homecoming for ASN, TNI, Polri and BUMN employees we have done, at today's meeting I say that we will ban everything going home," Jokowi said in a limited meeting via teleconference, Tuesday (4/21/2020).

Jokowi said, based on the results of the study and deepening of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), it was found that 68% of the news did not go home. While the other 24% insist on going home. Meanwhile there are already 7% of residents going home.

"This means that there is still a very large number of 24%," he said.

Jokowi explained that the central government had distributed social assistance in the form of food supplies to residents of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek).

In line with that, the Work Card program has also been running. Then the cash assistance has been done. Because the stimulus to the community has been given, Jokowi officially banned residents from going home in the middle of the corona pandemic.

"Therefore, I ask for preparations related to this," he concluded.
