South Sulawesi KONI with 20 Gold Target in XX Papua PON

The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of South Sulawesi Province is targeting 20 gold medals at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) 2021.

Chairman of the Development and Achievement Division of KONI South Sulawesi, Prof. DR Andi Ihsan MKes, admitted that South Sulawesi has excellent athletes or choices, who have the ability to present a gold medal in the future.

"Learning from the achievements of the South Sulawesi contingent at the 2016 West Java PON XIX which only ranked 12th, then at this year's PON XX, KONI Sulsel is committed to at least being ranked 10th with a target of obtaining 20 gold medals," said Andi Ihsan at the opening of the tutorial or class guidance for athletes who will compete in the XX Papua 2021 PON in the Bimpres Room, KONI South Sulawesi Office, Jl Sultan Hasanuddin, Makassar City.

South Sulawesi KONI itself for the umpteenth time has carried out tutorials or class guidance for athletes who will compete in the XX Papua PON 2021.

This time, athletes from 30 sports will participate in the physical and health test activities at PON Papua.

This tutorial was held for three days, Friday to Sunday (22-24 / 1/2021) in the Bimpres Room, KONI Sulsel Office, Jl Sultan Hasanuddin, Makassar City.

This class guidance was guided by four South Sulawesi KONI administrators, namely Deputy Chairperson III for Development and Achievement, Prof. DR Muzakkir SH MH, General Secretary of KONI Sulsel DR Addien, Chair of the Development and Achievement Division of KONI South Sulawesi Prof. DR H Andi Ihsan MKes and Deputy Chair for Development and Achievements of South Sulawesi KONI Drs Syamsuddin Umar MSi.

What distinguishes it from the previous tutorial, this tutorial is conducted in a communicative manner like a person taking a desk exam on campus. Where representatives of sports, such as coaches, assistant coaches, and mechanics in dialogue with the four mentors regarding the results of the SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) and prediction of medals that can be won at the XX PON match which is planned to be held in Papua Province, October This year.

Deputy Chairman III of the South Sulawesi KONI, Prof. DR Muzakkir SH MH, revealed that the results of the SWOT analysis from the results of physical tests and health tests for hundreds of athletes last December 2019 became a guideline for supervisors to evaluate coaches in preparing quality athletes.

"From the results of this tutorial, all the strengths and weaknesses of athletes and coaches during training were discussed together with representatives of sports and a solution was found," he said.

Where the first pari tutorial, 30 sports follow the guidance, one by one the sports that attend class guidance in a relaxed atmosphere and have a dialogue with the four KONI supervisors while listening carefully to the results of the SWOT analysis of their athletes who have undergone physical tests and medical tests.

In the records of the results of the KONI SWOT analysis, 17 athletes from various sports were included in the excelent category.
These athletes are given special notes by the supervisor to the coach so that they are coached more seriously and do not equate the quality of training with other categories of athletes such as good, moderate, moderate, and poor.
