Jayapura Regency expands telecommunication infrastructure
The Jayapura Regency Government has extended the cooperation contract for the preparation of telecommunications infrastructure to realize the concept of a smart city or smart city. They partnered with PT Daya Mitra Telekomunikasi to continue network development.
"We offer the construction of a Base Transciver Station (transmitter station) with the concept of (technology) microcell. The construction is combined with lighting along the main road so that every city activity can be monitored at any time, ”said the Operations Coordinator of PT Daya Mitra Telekomunikasi for Papua Region, Muklis.
The subsidiary of PT Telkom in the previous collaboration had built telecommunications infrastructure in 20 locations for four years in Jayapura Regency. In the latest contract, they will fulfill it to 50 locations.
Locations that have built telecommunication infrastructure include Sentani, Hawai, and Doyo Baru. Local governments can also directly monitor traffic conditions in these urban areas, including during the 2020 National Sports Week (PON).
Acting Head of the Jayapura Regency Communications and Informatics Agency Gustaf Griapon said the existence of telecommunications infrastructure is very important for the government and society. They can easily access information and monitor activity in public spaces.
"The local government fully supports the development of telecommunications infrastructure with microcell technology. We have facilitated the management of land permits and the location of the tower (transmitter) as well as the telecommunication network, "said Gustaf on the same occasion.
