Pratu Andreas Kosi, UN peacekeeping force from Papua




A native Papuan male TNI soldier born in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Pratu Andreas Kosi has just completed a unit assignment in the international arena to become a world peace force in the mission of the Kizi Konga XX-Q Monusco Congo Task Force 2020-2021.

Carrying out an assignment as a world peacekeeping force not only honors the TNI AD institution but provides valuable experience in supporting a career as a TNI soldier.

Pratu Andreas together with eight Yonif 756 / WMS personnel who had the opportunity to go abroad to carry out the international mission of the world peacekeepers who are members of the Kizi Konga XX-Q Monusco Congo Task Force 2020-2021.

Of the eight Soldiers Infantry Battalion 756 / WMS who departed to carry out this world peace mission, one of them was a native Papuan boy soldier who was born and raised in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, named First Private Andreas Kosi.

"Thank you for all the prayers so that I have finished carrying out my duties properly as a TNI ambassador in carrying out international missions and have now returned to the Yonif 756 / WMS unit in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency," said Pratu Andreas Kosi.

He was so touched that his service abroad was supported by the commander of the Battalion 756 / WMS. This was proven when he returned to the unit headquarters and was escorted back to his parents' house. The achievements made by Soldier Yonif 756 / WMS Pratu Andreas Kosi were rewarded with an extraordinary promotion (KPLB) by TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto.

Not only that, he also received a letter of appreciation from Kasad for his success in carrying out the operational duties of the Security Task Force for Prone Areas (Pamrahwan) Kmpi Yonif 756 / WMS in the Lani Jaya area in 2019.

"We express our gratitude to the leadership of the Indonesian Army for giving trust to members of Infantry Battalion 756 / WMS, especially the son of the native Baliem Wamena Valley to have the opportunity to become a world peace force under the auspices of the United Nations," said Deputy Commander of Infantry Battalion 756 / WMS Captain Inf Zurilham. escorted Pratu Andreas Kosi to his parents' residence.

In the meantime, when delivering First Brigadier back to his family, Captain Inf Zurilham as Wadanyonif 756 / WMS conveyed the message that every TNI soldier must have a strong determination and desire in the service of carrying out overseas assignments.

"Pursue all the things you dream and want until they come true. But remember one thing, all of them need a process. And in every process you go through, you must have determination and confidence and most importantly always involve God in your every step," said Wadanyonif 756. / WMS Captain Zurilham.

Wadanyonif 756 did not forget to convey his pride to the parents of Pratu Andreas, Yeri Kosi, for successfully escorting Pratu Andreas to serving in the TNI unit.

"We of Infantry Battalion 756 / WMS are very proud of your son, for his success in carrying out the task of securing the world, so I have to deliver it myself to return to you," said Wadanyonif.

Upon arrival of Pratu Andreas in his hometown, the group was immediately greeted with local customs. A warm and harmonious atmosphere was felt when the group was invited to enter the Honai traditional house, which is the residence of some indigenous people in the mountainous region of Papua.
