Tribal chiefs in Papua talk about the prestige of the TNI-Polri versus separatist groups

The chief of the Dani tribe, Jembatan Murib, acknowledged that the presence of the TNI-Polri apparatus has provided a sense of security for the people of Bumi Cenderawasih today. This recognition certainly also confirms the position of the Papuan people regarding the incessant actions of the Papua Armed Separatist Group (KSB).

"The TNI-Polri apparatus is always on duty to protect and provide security for the wider community. I am Jembatan Murib as the head of the Dani Tribe of Puncak Ilaga Regency asking the community to stick to the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, ”said Jembatan Murib while speaking in front of his tribe.

Furthermore, Murib Bridge revealed that the government has paid special attention to the Papuan people, starting from infrastructure development and human resources in Papua, so that many Papuan children have become government officials both in Papua and outside Papua.

Jembatan Murib also expressed his gratitude to the security forces, namely the TNI-Polri, who have provided a sense of security to the people in Puncak Regency so that daily community activities can run safely and peacefully.

Meanwhile, Kapen Kogabwilhan III Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa, in his statement Wednesday, March 17, 2021, said that the TNI-Polri's presence in Papua is indeed an effort to uphold state sovereignty and provide a sense of security to the Papuan people from threats and terror of KSB. All this time Papua has been voiced by KSB and its supporters, who do not want Papua to be conducive and prosperous, ”he said.

According to him, in creating conditions that were not conducive to Papua, the KSB not only carried out violence and terror with weapons, but also spread hoaxes or fake news that distorted the facts to corner the government and the TNI-Polri apparatus through certain online media and supporting social media accounts.
