Hermansyah said, there were about 200 athletes who were vaccinated today. Primarily that will be sent to PON Papua.
"The PON athletes who are members of the Wasaka training camp are very enthusiastic about participating in the Covid-19 vaccination program. Hopefully our athletes can be protected from this Covid-19 pandemic, so that they can participate smoothly in PON Papua later, "he said, Friday (9/4/2021).
Meanwhile, the team of doctors from KONI South Kalimantan, represented by Dr. Muhammad Bimo Harmadji, said that not only athletes, coaches and staff of KONI South Kalimantan were vaccinated. There are three health centers involved in this vaccination, namely Karang Mekar, Pekauman and Kertak Hanyar.
He asked, athletes and coaches as well as KONI staff who were vaccinated today in order to maintain health protocols.
"After being vaccinated, they are still asked to apply health protocols, because anti-bodies need time to be formed, to be immune from the Covid-19 virus," said Bimo. Previously, the Chairman of the South Kalimantan KONI, Bambang Hari Purnama, stated that vaccination for athletes and coaches as well as the official team to go to PON Papua is very important.
It is hoped that all can be protected from the high transmission of Covid-19.
"I ask the athletes to continue to practice diligently, maintain weight and stamina, always adhere to health protocols. Hopefully there will be no health problems for our athletes until they leave and compete in PON Papua," he said.
