The Papua Provincial Government through the Papua Provincial Secretary Dance Y. M.Si strongly condemned and regretted the shooting that killed two teachers, namely Oktavianus Rayo and Yonathan Renden, and the perpetrators also burned down the school in Boega, Puncak Regency.
"We, the government are concerned, we continue to coordinate with the central government, security forces and I want regional heads to be in place to conduct consultations at the regional level," said Papua Provincial Secretary Dance Y Flassy yesterday
He added that the presence of the state will always be there to protect teachers in the interior of Papua. He also explained that he had coordinated with the security forces to provide a sense of security for teachers in the interior of Papua.
"The head of the service has continued to coordinate with security and is happy that the service works quickly and I hope the teachers will stay in place, I am sure God will protect the duties of the teachers," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Province DPPAD Christian Sohilait ST. M.Si said that in the past two days there had been two cases of shooting of teachers and also burning of school buildings.
"When I got this news, I immediately reported it to the Regional Secretary, the Deputy Governor and with the Kapolda. For the perpetrators and safeguarding all of that, we leave it to the security forces and we only ask to give us a guarantee of safety for our teachers, "he said.
Meanwhile from the Dinas, his party coordinates how teachers can be evacuated to public places. In addition, his party advised teachers who are in conflict-prone areas so that if they do not feel comfortable, they can take refuge in safe areas.
"Let the community support and protect our teachers, if they have a kiosk, we cannot prevent who wants to shop there and immediately suspects that it is the life at stake. Any religion in the world will definitely prohibit murder, regardless of whether it is wrong, especially if this is a teacher, "he explained.
Sohilait added that the teachers who died in Boega were teachers who had long survived teaching in the interior of Papua to educate Papuan children in the interior to educate Papuan children.
