One week the KKB Shoots Dead 4 Civilians to Spread Terror on the Peak of Papua

The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) is again spreading terror in Papua's Puncak Regency. In the past week, apart from taking the lives of four civilians, the KKB also burned down schools, houses and a helicopter.

The KKB Terror Action began on Thursday (08/04/21) in Julukoma Village, Beoga District, Puncak Regency. An honorarium teacher on behalf of Oktovianus Rayo (41 years) was shot while he was inside his kiosk.

Oktovianus died with two gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius D Fakhiri said the shooter was a KKB led by Sabinus Waker who allegedly came to Illaga to fulfill an invitation from the Lekagak Telenggen group.

"So the Sabinus Waker group is heading to Ilaga at the invitation of Lekagak Telenggen, we have information that on the way to Ilaga he carried out a shooting," said the Kapolda, Thursday (08/04/21).

After shooting the Oktovianus teacher, at around 18.15 Wit, the same group then set fire to the Jambul Elementary School building, the Beoga 1 Middle School and SMA Negeri 1 building and the teachers' housing which was located in one complex.

The next day, Friday 9 April 2021, at around 17.00 Wit, KKB again shot dead a teacher on behalf of, Yonatan Renden.

Guru Jonathan was shot when he was looking for a tarpaulin to wrap the body of Guru Oktovianus, who was shot the day before by KKB.
The bodies of teacher Oktovianus and teacher Yonathan could not be evacuated to Timika because KKB still controlled Beoga Airport.

Saturday, April 10, 2021, the bodies of the two teachers were finally able to be evacuated after the Puncak Papua district government paid a ransom to the KKB to let the plane enter Beoga airport.

The next day, Sunday 11 April, at around 18.25 West Indonesia Time, KKB again burned nine classrooms and laboratories in the Beoga 1 Middle School and SMA Negeri 1 Beoga complex.

Meanwhile on the same day at Illaga Airport, KKB set fire to a private PT Ersa Air militant helicopter that was parked at the airport.

After a day off, Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the KKB returned to action. This time they again burned down a number of residents' houses in Beoga village.

One of the houses that was burned was the house of the deputy chairman of the DPRD of Puncak Papua Regency.

Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at around 13.30 WIT, KKB again shot dead a motorcycle taxi driver in Eromaga village, Omukia District, Puncak Papua.

The victim, on behalf of Udin (41 years) who is a resident of the Illaga market, died with two gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Thursday morning, Udin's body was evacuated to Timika. On the same day KKB again shot dead a high school student on behalf of Ali Mom.

The third grade student of SMA Negeri 1 Illaga was shot in Tagalao village, Illaga District at around 08.00 WIB.

The victim was previously called by an unknown person and asked to deliver cigarettes and betel nuts to the village of Uloni.

After arriving at their destination, the victim was then approached by an armed group and immediately shot the victim. victim Ali mom died with two gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Apart from shooting Ali Mom dead, the KKB also burned the victim's motorcycle.

The Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Pol Mathius D Fakhiri said that his party suspected that the terrorist act this time was carried out by two KKB groups, namely the leader of Sabinus Waker and the KKB led by Lekagak Telenggen.

According to Kapolda, the KKB group Sabinus Waker is known to be headquartered in the Intan Jaya district, while the Lekagak Telenggen group is headquartered in Illaga, Puncak regency.

At the invitation of the Lekagak Telenggen group, the Sabinus group came to Illaga. It was on their way to Illaga that the Sabinus group carried out acts of terror in Beoga.

Meanwhile, the terror action that occurred in Illaga was an act of terror by the Lekagak Telenggen group.

Kapolda admitted that until now the joint apparatus had been deployed to Beoga and Illaga Districts to secure the situation in the two districts, however the Kapolda admitted that his party would not act carelessly in prosecuting the KKB.

"The shooting was to lure us into action, in addition to seizing our weapons and ammunition, now they are also using social media to make propaganda, when we overreact it will definitely be politicized," said Inspector General Fakhiri, Friday (16/04/21 ).

Kapolda Fakhiri revealed that currently all personnel in the Beoga and Illaga districts remain alert and will act in a measured manner, thereby minimizing mistakes when enforcing the law on the KKB.

"In taking action, we have to measure it carefully and then we act, why? In order to reduce, the first one was mistakenly shot, the second minimized the number of casualties on the part of the party, "explained the Kapolda.

Meanwhile the Kapolda also said that until now the strength of TNI / Polri personnel in Beoga and Illaga districts was sufficient to provide security to residents and pursue KKB.

"I also want to convey to all residents in Puncak, to be even more vigilant, to avoid activities outside the home that are not too important and to remain vigilant," concluded the Papua Police Chief.
