Pastor who provided Senpi for KKB Intan Jaya was arrested by the Nemangkawi Task Force
The Nemangkawi Task Force arrested Paniel Kogoya, a person suspected of providing funding to the Papua armed criminal group (KKB) to buy firearms (senpi). Paniel is currently being held at the Nabire Police for further investigation.
"The Gakkum Nemangkawi Task Force has arrested Paniel Kogoya, who is suspected of being a buyer or seeker of KKB Intan Jaya weapons," said Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force, Kombes M Iqbal Alqudussy, in his statement, Monday (19/4/2021).
Paniel, who is a pastor by profession, was arrested this afternoon. His case will be processed by the Nabire Police.
Iqbal also revealed that Paniel Kogoya had actually been on the wanted list (DPO) since January 2021 because of his involvement with KKB Papua. The arrest of Paniel is a development of the testimony of Didy Chandra (DC) and Fuad Arisetyadi (FA), who are suspects in possession of Senpi.
"From the provisional results, Paniel Kogoya acknowledged that he had purchased four weapons and had been given them to the Nduga KKB in Intan Jaya," said Iqbal.
He said, based on the statement of the DC suspect, it was known that a number of transactions were carried out by Paniel Kogoya. There were at least 4 senpi purchase transactions made by Paniel.
"From the results of the provisional information, it was known that Paniel Kogoya after being secured it was known that Paniel Kogoya admitted that he had bought 4 weapons which had been given to KKB Nduga in Intan Jaya and while interrogation was still being carried out to investigate further," he said.
A number of purchases made by Paniel included the purchase of the M4 type weapon in June 2019 for IDR 300 million, the purchase of the M16 type senpi in December 2019 for IDR 300 million, and ordering a penny for IDR 550 million in early 2020.
