TNI Soldiers Celebrate Easter at the RI-PNG Border with Papuans




 TNI soldiers from Yonif 131 / Braja Sakti who are members of the RI-PNG Border Security Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) simultaneously celebrate Easter with the community at 17 RI-PNG Border Posts, Sunday 4 April 2021

The peak celebration of Easter begins with a torch parade at 04.00 WIT. Furthermore, the Papuan people and TNI personnel departed from the church yard using the village streets and returned to the church yard, which was followed by an Easter celebration service.

In addition to carrying out the Easter celebration worship activities which were attended by members of the Pamtas Yonif 131 / Braja Sakti Task Force and the community, personnel at 17 RI-PNG Border Posts also provided free health services and medical treatment to community members.

Mental Development Officer (Pabintal) Battalion 131 / Braja Sakti Lettu Inf H.J. Situmeang said that this Easter activity was held jointly by the personnel of the RI-PNG Civil Service Task Force and the community.

According to him, this year's Easter is very memorable because it was spent together with brothers in Papua in the assigned area to carry out the security of the RI-PNG border.

"Hopefully the spirit and momentum of this Easter will further strengthen our togetherness as the nation's children in safeguarding the sovereignty of our beloved country," he concluded.
