PGG Jayawijaya Supports TNI-POLRI to Take Decisive Action Against KKB Groups in Papua

Chairman of the Jayawijaya Churches Association (PGGJ Jayawijaya), Pdt. Joop Suebu, supports the TNI-POLRI to carry out strict law enforcement efforts by the Government of Indonesia in dealing with acts of violence committed by the TPNPB-OPM.

According to Pdt. Joop Suebu, a firm law enforcement effort is needed to deal with acts of violence committed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua, which is now labeled the Terrorist Separatist Group (KST).

He emphasized that he fully supports the actions of the authorities in upholding the law against the perpetrators of the KKB violence which has caused many victims.

"As an individual and representing the PGGJ Papua Management, I strongly condemn the violence that has occurred in Papua recently, which has claimed the lives of both TNI, Polri and civilians," Rev. Joop told TIMES Indonesia in Jakarta, Sunday (23/5) / 2021).

Pdt. Joop Suebu also hopes that there will be real law enforcement actions not only against perpetrators of violent acts.

He also requested that the security apparatus also act fairly to enforce the law against parties who have not been transparent in the management of Papua's Special Autonomy funds.

"We hope that law enforcement will be carried out thoroughly, not only against acts of violence committed by the KKB, but also towards the regional government which has not been transparent in the management of Papua's Special Autonomy funds," said the Chairman of PGGJ Jayawijaya Pdt. Joop Suebu.
