PON Papua's Aquatic Venue is officially certified the world

The Aquatic Arena, which was prepared for the PON XX Papua National sports event, is officially certified by the Federation Internationale de Natation as the parent organization of the world swimming sports federation.

The PON XX Papua aquatic arena in the sports area of ​​Harapan Sentani Village, Jayapura Regency, with certification, is confirmed to be recognized as an arena that complies with Olympic standards, so that all records created by their solutions will receive international or world recognition.

The FINA representative represented by the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Swimming Association (PRSI) Sarman Simanjorang stated that this is historic for Papua, because officially FINA as the world swimming organization has certified the PON Papua Sixth Pool. "This certification was carried out during the witnessing in Spain, even the measuring instruments were imported directly from the country of Matador. And this venue can be used in preparation for the test event ahead of the XX PON in 2021, "said Sarman.

"After there is an Aquatic venue and it has received recognition from the world, PRSI Papua can focus on the process of improving athletes' achievements, and in the future can bring the name of Papua and Indonesia in international events, and can even be used for prestigious championships," he added.

On that occasion, Sarman hopes that the Papua Provincial Government can take good care of this swimming pool. Because, until now there are only three swimming pools in Indonesia that have received worldwide recognition.

"In Indonesia, there are three swimming pools, namely the GBK Jakarta Aquatic, the PPOP Ragunan pool and the Papua aquatic venue. But when we stand at the Papuan swimming pool, it feels like being in the GBK Senayan aquatic area in Jakarta, Papua should be proud to have a venue as luxurious as this, "he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Settlement Infrastructure Implementation Work Unit Region II Papua Ministry of PUPR Anggoro Putro said the PUPR Ministry began building the Papua aquatic venue on December 7, 2018 and was completed on time in July 2020. Where the contract value was Rp. 401 billion consisting of three pools, namely, a pool. tanding, the heating pool and the diving pool are beautiful.

"Papua aquatic is equipped with field of play lighting which has 1500 lux for a swimming and diving pool, while a 600 lux heating pool is equipped with a timming system, scoring board, sound system, air conditioning, CCTV, solar panels, as well as an area arrangement for parking, landscape and other supporting buildings. Because the construction was carried out by PT Waskita Karya supported by PT Pluidra Indonesia as a sub-contractor for the center aquatic pool specialist, "
