Support the TNI-Polri, the Waropen Indigenous Peoples Organization asks the Papuan rebels to be arrested

The Waropen Regency Indigenous Peoples Organization (LMA) asked the TNI-Polri to arrest all the rebels and racial rioters in Jayapura. It is hoped that the arrest of the rebels can create a calm and peaceful situation in Papua.

"It has been arrested and I ask Viktor Yeimo to be prosecuted immediately, not to be long, the criminals are immediately sent to jail, including other actors," said the Chairman of LMA Waropen, Barens Agaki, Monday (17/5/2021 ).

The LMA also asked all Papuans, especially Waropen residents, not to be provoked by misleading issues after the arrest of West Papua National Committee spokesman Viktor Yeimo on the accusation of being the mastermind behind the 2019 racial riots in Jayapura.

Barens Agaki also firmly asks residents not to give sympathy to the Free Papua groups such as the KNPB, ULMWP and others who have disturbed the peace on Earth of Cenderawasih.

According to him, the actor behind the 2019 racial riots was not only Viktor Yeimo, but there were other intellectual actors who also funded the action until there were thousands of anarchist mobs so that there were many casualties and property.

"Also arrest those who fund it, including the supply of budgets for the Free Papua group. This Special Autonomy fund is not evenly distributed to the community because one of them is for this, used to fund the Free Papua organization and its movements. So it must be thoroughly investigated," he said.

Even if it turns out that the intellectual actor is a Papuan official, he said, he must be given strict sanctions in the form of dismissal and imprisonment.

"The law must be enforced, we support it, whether the officials who support the rebels must be arrested and imprisoned, the state must not lose. They are increasingly acting up, while many Papuans do not like what they are doing," he said.

He also asked the government and security forces to continue to work together with indigenous peoples to help filter the pro-Free Papua movement.

According to him, the function of Adat is very important in preventing misleading provocations at the grassroots level.

"All must unite, work together to eradicate this. We LMA are also ready to support government programs for the development of Papua in a peaceful and prosperous NKRI," he said.
