The division of Papua Province is not something new to be talked about at this time, but since 10 years ago.

"The aspiration for expansion is not new, but has been around for a long time, more or less 10 years ago by the community," said Nico.

He emphasized that the expansion of the new autonomous region is the aspiration of the citizens to advance Papua Province from various disadvantages.

If the aspirations for the expansion of the new autonomous region are realized or answered by the central government, then this is a wise move and should be welcomed by all parties.

"If all of this materializes, then the division of regions, districts / cities or provinces by the central government is a positive step," Nico, who is also the Chair of the Panca Marga Youth Department of Papua Province

He continued, the new autonomous regions could shorten the span of government control and accelerate development in remote areas.

"I think the division is a positive step to develop Papua land and this is not a government engineering work, but this is the aspiration of the people who have been waiting for a long time. For that I ask for prayers and support from all Papuan people so that this can be realized immediately for the welfare of all of us, "he explained.

Previously, the central government through the Ministry of Home Affairs said it would carry out the expansion of regions or provinces in Papua.
