The Government Will Immediately Take Action On The 10 Biggest Corruption in Papua!
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud Md, explained a series of government policies related to Papua. There are general policies to specific policies that go through a legal and security approach.
At the beginning of the press conference, Mahfud Md explained a series of government policies for the development of Papua which are based on a welfare approach. Starting from the special autonomy fund to affirmative policies regarding the quota of indigenous Papuans in the parliament.
"The government continues to take a welfare approach, peaceful without violence, and without weapons. Those are the basic principles," Mahfud said at a press conference at his office, Wednesday (19/5/2021).
However, to protect them, the government needs to take a legal and security approach. The first thing is the hunting of terrorists. Mahfud emphasized that the people being hunted were the ones who carried out terror.
"First, we will hunt down terrorists, not Papuan organizations but Papuans who carry out terror. By name, there are names that are mentioned," he said.
The second step is tracing misappropriation of state funds. According to Mahfud, so far there are those who question why corruption in Papua is allowed.
"So far, people often question why corruption is allowed there. We have now determined the 10 biggest corruption cases, both reports from BPK and findings from BIN," said Mahfud.
"This will be carried out by law enforcement against them," he said.
