Papua Police Prepares PON Security Simulation

The Papuan Regional Police (Polda) will soon prepare a security simulation for the XX National Sports Week (PON) which will be held before October 2021. The Papuan Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Pol Mathius Fakhiri in Jayapura, Wednesday, said this simulation was important for conducting traffic engineering , especially during the opening and closing of PON. "So that in its implementation, the public can feel comfortable watching the opening and closing of the XX PON in Papua," he said.

According to Kapolda Fakhiri, quoted from Antara News, his party will prepare more than 8,000 police personnel who will cooperate with the Papua Provincial Government to provide security. "On the other hand, we have also asked PB PON to write to all contingents to prepare internal security that can work together with the Regional Police and the local Kodam," he said.

He explained that each contingent could have additional security of approximately 30 personnel who would cooperate with the Regional Police and the Regional Military Command in Papua. "This internal PAM will work together to secure the officials and athletes in each contingent," he said.

He added that this security simulation is planned to be carried out in the last week of June 2021 to familiarize the community in each cluster organizing the XX 2021 PON in four districts/cities.
