The Ministry of Transportation Strives to Optimize the Sea Toll
The Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation continues to strive to optimize the function of the sea highway in Papua.
One of the efforts is to strengthen coordination across sectors and stakeholders. The coordination is to provide convenience to the community and local entrepreneurs in using the sea toll road.
Head of the Class III Port Management Unit (UPP) Office of Sarmi Regency, Papua, Capt. Binsar H Tambun said this coordination was needed to optimize the cargo, especially the return cargo. So that it has an impact on the progress of Sarmi Regency.
"Optimization of this backload needs to be done in order to boost the potential of areas that are worth selling to reach a wider market outside the island," said Capt Binsar, Saturday (20/3/2021).
Binsar said related agencies would encourage entrepreneurs to be able to take advantage of the Sea Toll Road as a countercharge so that local potentials could be sent out.
Then the cooperative centers will be reactivated to be able to function as a collector of regional potential results. Meanwhile, the Sarmi Regency government will cooperate with other regional Trade Offices to assist buyers, as has been done with the Surabaya City Government Trade Office to help find markets in the Surabaya area.
"The Trade Office will also help entrepreneurs to make business licensing documents such as SIUP, NPWP, integrity pacts and so on," he said.
