Papuan KKB Leader Egianus Kogoya Shakes Nduga Land Again

Six months ago the Nemangkawi Task Force was sent to Papua to eradicate the armed criminal group (KKB), the situation had calmed down some time ago.

But this situation turned out to be short-lived. It was reported that the TNI and KKB had just made another gun battle, Tuesday, July 13, 2021 yesterday. This KKB was led by none other than Egianus Kogoya.

The conflict occurred in Mapenduma District.

Previously, a week earlier there was also a gun battle in Keneyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua on July 6, 2021.

This contact on 6/7/2021 caused 3 TNI members to suffer gunshot wounds. Meanwhile, the latest gunfight with Egianus Kogoya caused 2 TNI soldiers to be injured.

Pangdam XVII/Cendrawasih Maj. Gen. Ignatius Yogo Triono said the gunfight in Mapenduma District occurred for about 60 minutes.

During this gun battle, two soldiers were injured, namely First Lieutenant Inf Sukma Panunjang and Praka Abdul Hamid.

First Lieutenant Sukma was injured because he was hit by a bullet in the head. Meanwhile, Praka Abdul Hamid was shot in the left hip.

The two of them were still in a conscious state for now.

"For the victim who was shot in the head, only the projectile rebound because it was only hit by the projectile on the right forehead. It did not endanger his life," he said via text message, Tuesday, quoted from Kompas.com.

Then regarding the gunfight on Tuesday 6/7/2021, the three injured members were Praka Sigit, Pratu Masmur and Prada Rudi. Praka Sigit was shot in the waist, while Pratu Masmur was hit by a bullet in the head.

Then Prada Rudi suffered a wound on his upper lip that was hit by a reset. They were eventually evacuated to Timika and treated at the hospital.

The perpetrators numbered 5 people who were Egianus Kogoya's group, as Igantius estimated. "Yes, that's right, that's Egianus' group," he said.

The shooting occurred when 310/KK personnel were about to carry out helicopter logistics boosting in Yal Village.

According to the TNI, during a shootout in the Keneyam District, a member of the KKB was shot, but his colleagues took him away.
