RAHMAN MANDACAN: PPKM PROTECTS THE COMMUNITY FROM THE CORONA VIRUS

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) announced that the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) will take effect from 3-20 July 2021. This Emergency PPKM includes restrictions on community activities that are stricter than those that have been in effect so far.

The policy, which was implemented for two weeks and targets regencies/cities in Java and Bali, was carried out as a way to break the chain of the spread of the corona virus, which has continued to increase in recent times.

District intellectual figures. Arfak Mountains, Rahman Mandacan stated that the policy for the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) was implemented in order to suppress the spread of Covid-19 transmission, which is currently increasingly massive.

"I agree that the implementation of the emergency PPKM is implemented especially in areas where the positive number of Covid-19 is already high. This can prevent Covid-19 from spreading to all regions in Indonesia, even entering Kab. Arfak Mountains,” said Rahman.

According to him, the Indonesian government has been quite good at handling Covid-19, and suggested that there be firmness from the central government to regional governments so that local governments are also serious in handling Covid-19 in their regions.

"There needs to be firmness from the Center to the Regional Government, because I see that so far the Regional Government has not been maximal in dealing with the Covid-19 problem," said Rahman.

As an intellectual figure Kab. Arfak Mountains appealed to all Arfak people to continue to support government policies in order to suppress the spread of Covid-19 through policies to limit community activities for the common good.
