CdM Meeting III, Governor of Papua: We are ready to welcome PON XX

Papua Province as the host of the XX National Sports Week (PON) will present their latest readiness through the Chef de Mission (CdM) meeting III which will be held at Horizon Hotel Kotaraja, Jayapura City, for three days, 26-28 August 2021.

The implementation of the CdM meeting III was held in conjunction with the Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM) which was attended by all the delegates from the PON contingent province.

The Governor of Papua who is also the General Chair of the Papua PON Grand Committee, Lukas Enembe said that through the implementation of XX PON, it is hoped that it will be an event to maintain national unity and also as a benchmark for the development of national sports achievements.

"We have made various policy breakthroughs as a joint commitment to providing optimal services to all contingents as part of the efforts of the government and the Papuan people in the success of the XX PON in Papua," said Governor Enembe, Thursday (26/8/21).

The governor ensured that the implementation of PON XX would remain on schedule, after seeing the performance and readiness of each cluster of implementation.

"So it can be ascertained that all matches in PON XX can be carried out according to the match schedule," said the Governor.

"I urge the implementation of the CdM meeting III and DRM to be carried out quickly and precisely, so that the decisions in DRM will provide certainty of service to all contingents present," he added.

Chairman of the Central KONI, Marciano Norman said the CdM meeting III and DRM activities were the last meeting of the contingent delegation with the host party to prepare for the readiness and departure of the contingents from their home regions to take part in PON XX.

“So that they see the final readiness, they coordinate the things that need to be conveyed as well as the issue of the legitimacy of the athletes. Therefore, with the CdM meeting III and DRM, I hope that the PON will not waste time, which is still a problem with the origin of the athletes, "said Norman.

He hoped that through the CdM meeting III and DRM which was held for three days, all the things that were still blocking each contingent could be finalized soon.

"I hope they are convinced, things must be done and God willing, on September 23 the first match will start, but the opening will still be on October 2 by the President and the closing will be on October 15," he asked.
