IMBRAIRIRI VILLAGE YOUTH LEADERS: WE SUPPORT THE APPROVAL OF OTSUS

Imbrairiri Village Youth Leader Hendrik Horota said that the implementation of Otsus had provided great benefits for the Papuan people, especially in terms of providing access to education so that many Papuan children received scholarships to study outside Papua.

In terms of development, there are many improvements, including improving road access so that it makes it easier for people to travel from one area to another.

He said that in the ratification of the Special Autonomy Revision, we saw that there had been many changes and evaluations, so that it was hoped that it would have a greater impact on the Papuan people.

“Hopefully with the existence of Otsus Volume II, in the future the welfare of the Papuan people will increase and the poverty rate in West Papua will decrease.

He considers that if Otsus is declared a failure by certain groups or individuals, this is not true because of the fact that Otsus plays an important role for progress in Papua. It is hoped that the Government can prevent the existence of groups on behalf of the Papuan people from rejecting Otsus.

Otsus has touched on various social aspects ranging from education, health and infrastructure development, these three aspects certainly have helped a lot to ease the economic burden of OAP.

He appealed and invited all Papuans to fully support the revision of the Special Autonomy Law which had been ratified by the DPR RI, considering that Papua has advanced thanks to the Special Autonomy funds.
