Latest News Papuan KKB Allegedly Funded by Officials, TNI-Polri Personnel Become Sources of Firearms Suppliers

Until now, armed criminal groups in Papua continue to carry out actions, attacking and killing civilians and TNI-Polri soldiers.

The barbaric actions were carried out in a guerrilla manner, making it difficult for the TNI-Polri to crush them.

Ironically, even though they live in the forest and almost never enter the cities, the separatist group still exists with its movement.

Recently, it was revealed that the life of the Papuan KKB was allegedly funded by unscrupulous officials.

Meanwhile, a number of TNI and Polri elements are suspected of selling firearms to intermediaries for the benefit of the KKB.

This fact is certainly very surprising. But it also justifies that the Papuan KKB still exists because it is funded by state officials and is supported by elements of the TNI and Polri.

Regarding the reckless actions of officials who funded the Papuan KKB, one of them was revealed when Ratius Murib was arrested.

When Ratius Murib was arrested, Rp 350 million was confiscated from his hands. The money was allegedly obtained from an unscrupulous DPRD chairman named Sonny Wanimbo.

When questioned, Ratius Murib revealed that he received the Rp 350 million directly from Sonny Wanimbo, who is now the chairman of the Tolikara DPRD.

As a result, Sonny Wanimbo, who is also a potential cadre of the NasDem Party, was also dragged into the case of a firearms supplier for the Papuan KKB.

Sonny is suspected of having co-financed the supply of firearms to the separatist group. And the funding is thought to have been going on for a long time.

It was revealed that the name of this official began when the Nemangkawi Task Force arrested Ratius Murib alias Neson Murib, at Mulia Airport, Puncak Jaya Regency, June 14, 2021.

It is also confirmed that the Papuan Police have summoned Sonny Wanimbo for questioning.

"We have sent a summons to the chairman of the Tolikara DPRD," said the Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri, in Jayapura, Thursday, July 15 2021.

It's just that until now it has not been revealed to the public about the results of the examination of Sonny Wanimbo, the NasDem Party cadre who is also the Chairman of the Tolikara DPRPD.

Mathius said the Papuan Police would try their best to uncover who contributed to Neson Murib's funds.

Direskrimum Polda Papua, Kombes Faisal Ramadhani, said that the time for summoning the chairman of the Tolikara DPRD, Sonny Wanimbo, had passed and the person concerned had not arrived.

"The call was yesterday, July 14, 2021, but the person concerned is currently in Jakarta and has not been able to return because he has not been vaccinated," he said.
