OTSUS HAS ENHANCED THE PRINCIPLE AND DIGNITY OF ORIGINAL PAPUA PEOPLE

Head of the Malasilen Village of Sorong City, Ferdinand Safkaur, S.Sos, gave his support for the sustainability of Special Autonomy (Otsus) which has been going on for 20 years in Papua.

The existence of Otsus so far has been very supportive of the indigenous Papuans (OAP). With the decision of the Revision of Law No. 21 of 2001 concerning Special Autonomy for Papua by the DPR-RI, the Special Autonomy Law has accommodated all the wishes of the Papuan people, especially in the fields of education, health, economy and politics.

"Currently, people only need to be grateful for the revision of the Special Autonomy Law, because the Papuan people have received special rights in the form of Special Autonomy in Papua, which will accommodate indigenous Papuan sons and daughters in their competence to do work in the world of work and advance the economic life of indigenous Papuans in general," said Ferdinand

He really appreciates the implementation of Otsus which has raised the dignity of OAP and will continue to think positively to move forward in building the community, so that an independent society can be achieved and can improve the standard of living of the Papuan people towards a Prosperous Papuan society.
