CLARIFICATION OF THE PEGUBIN TRADITIONAL COUNCIL REGARDING REFUGEES

As the Customary Council of the Bintang Mountains Regency, Anton Uropmabin clarified regarding the displacement that occurred in the Kiwirok district after the attack by the Separatist group led by Lamek Taplo.
When confirmed, Anton Uropmabin said that he had never given a statement about the displacement of dikiwirok due to the presence of TNI and Polri troops as reported by the online media Jubi, which aired Friday, 22/10/21.

"I did not give a statement to the online media Jubi regarding the evacuation as a result of the TNI and Polri, that is not true," he said.

On the other hand, I said that the presence of the TNI and Polri after the attack by the Lamek Taplo group in Kiwirok actually provided services and protection to the residents there.

And I also conveyed that the church had provided assistance in the form of 6 tons of rice to residents affected by the attack on Lamek Taplo.

"I also said that the refugees have received as much as 6 tons of rice from the church through our customary council," he continued.

As the traditional council of the Bintang Mountains, he regrets that the news published is not in accordance with the statement he conveyed, and he also hopes that the media will not just make news.

"So I reiterate once again, I'm not talking about the TNI or Polri expelling the people. What I'm saying is that the TNI and Polri who are in the Pegubin are the same as us, the Customary Council, which is protecting the community," said Anton.

Anton will also make a clarification statement regarding the news that is not in accordance with the delivery published by the online media.
