General Dudung: KKB Papua Is Not Our Enemy

Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman said the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) was not the enemy.

"The Papuan KKB are not our enemies. They are Indonesian citizens, their ID cards are Indonesian," said Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman during a working visit at the Tadulako Military Command Headquarters 132, Palu City, Central Sulawesi, Friday (26/11).

He suspects that the Papuan KKB is being used by certain parties. Because, he said, the crimes committed by the Papuan KKB were not only against the TNI and Polri, but also to the community.

Thus, KSAD Dudung considered that the solution that needed to be applied to the KKB in Papua was by means of a persuasive approach. However, he said, TNI members must always be vigilant.

"What is the solution with a soft heart, but we are vigilant, but we prioritize approaches to the community," he said.

"Thankfully they understand what we are doing and they come down to build with Papua," he said.
