Papua National Park Day Four Full of National Record-Breaking
The fourth day of the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week (Peparnas Papua), Monday, was marked by a number of record-breaking events from various sports being competed.
The record-breaking at least occurred in the branches of swimming, weight lifting, and athletics.
At least five national records (rekornas) were broken on the first day of the Peparnas XVI Papua swimming competition at the Kampung Harapan Aquatic Arena, Jayapura Regency, Monday.
The first two national records were created in the 50 meter breaststroke for men and women in the S6 classification through debutant swimmers M Gerry Pahker and Siti Alfiah.
Gerry who was present under the banner of the Riau contingent appeared impressive by posting the fastest time of 44.32 seconds. This result also broke Toif Fauzi's national record, which previously scored 48.02 seconds in 2016.
Meanwhile, Siti Alfiah from Central Java opened the race with a gold medal after posting a time of 52.44 seconds. This achievement broke Riyanti's 2018 national record with 59.15 seconds.
Then a new national record was also created in the women's 100 meter freestyle S12, which was scored by West Java swimmer Laras Safitri Permatasari who sharpened her own time to 1 minute 24.23 seconds from the previous 1 minute 31.27 seconds.
In the women's 100 meters freestyle, Naila Puja Rislani from West Java also managed to break the national record after winning gold in the women's 100 meters freestyle event S15.
Naila posted a time of 1 minute 12.63 seconds or better than Illiyin Nur Y.'s previous national record of 1 minute 16.03 in 2016.
The last record for swimming was created by Norlatifah, a South Kalimantan athlete, who appeared in the 50 meters women's backstroke S9 with 43.83 minutes.
She overtook Laura Aurelia Dinda's 2016 record with a time of 44.37 seconds.
From weightlifting, it was recorded that Bali athlete Ni Nengah Widiasih managed to break the national record in the 45kg class and A Hadi from West Kalimantan in the men's 49kg class.
Ni Nengah Widiasih, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, continued to make achievements by breaking the women's 45kg weightlifting national record at the Suni Garden Lake Ballroom, Sentani, Jayapura Regency, Monday.
Ni Nengah Widiasih broke the national record set by the East Kalimantan athlete, Nurjanah, who was inscribed at the 2012 Peparnas with a weight of 67kg.
On this occasion, Ni Nengah Widiasih managed to lift the heaviest weight of 90kg produced on the third occasion.
"Hopefully this will be a motivation for other athletes, especially new athletes. Hopefully they, athletes in the regions will be more motivated to train harder and prepare for the next National Tournament," hoped Ni Nengah Widiasih.
Men's weight lifter, A Hadi Barat also broke the men's 49kg national record.
Hadi, who won the gold medal with the heaviest weight of 150 kg, broke the national record set by West Java athlete Tamim Prasetyo with a weight of 141 kg which was scored at the 2016 National Tournament.
In addition, from the para-athletic sport at least six national records were broken on the third day of the match which took place at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura, Monday.
First, the women's 400 meters T20 which was solved by Indah Khoirunisa from West Java with a time of 1 minute 03.93 seconds.
Indah's record time beat the record set by Tiwa from Riau at Peparnas XV in West Java in 2016, which was 1 minute 04.15 seconds.
Second, Zakaria from West Nusa Tenggara in the men's 400 meters T20 with a time of 50.77 seconds, breaking Felypus Kolymau's record from NTT with 50.99 seconds at the 2016 Peparnas.
Third, Amirul Salam from West Java with a record time of 53.74 seconds in the men's 400 meters T13 who broke the record for his own name at the 2016 Peparnas with a time of 53.87 seconds.
Fourth, Slamet Wahyu Jati from Central Java in the men's 400 meters T12 with a time of 51.57 seconds which broke Iwan Susanto's record at the 2016 Peparnas with a time of 55.87 seconds.
Fifth, Muhammad Dimas Ubaidillah broke the men's 400-meter national record T11 with a time of 55.55 seconds, or surpassed Rully Alkahfi Mubarok's record at the 2016 Peparnas with a record time of 56.53 seconds.
Sixth, Maria Goreti Samiyati from DKI Jakarta in the women's 1500 meter T54 or wheelchair race with a time of 4 minutes 28.65 seconds, overtaking Awin Listyowati's record with a time of 5 minutes 31.70 seconds at Peparnas Riau.
