Peparnas XVI Plans to be Closed by President Jokowi

The closing ceremony for the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) will be held at the Mandala Jayapura Stadium, Saturday (11/13). The closing ceremony is planned to be led directly by President Jokowi. This was conveyed by the Daily Chair of PB Peparnas XVI Papua, Doren Wakerkwa.

According to Doren as he is known, President Jokowi is still scheduled to attend the closing ceremony.

"Hopefully during the closing ceremony of Peparnas XVI on November 13, the President will do it," said Doren to the media crew when giving a statement to the media crew at the Aquatik venue of Kampung Harapan, Sentani, Jayapura Regency.

Doren said that the closing ceremony had been well prepared by the EO OCC. Doren also hopes that the EO OCC can prepare all the preparations well. The reason, according to Doren, during the opening ceremony there were several segments that did not go well.

"Yesterday there was something missing during the opening ceremony, and it must be completed, so that when the closing is complete, everything that is more or less must be completed. And I hope that the EO who prepares the opening and closing can be successful,” pleaded Doren.

Doren added that before closing Peparnas, President Jokowi was scheduled to visit the venues for Peparnas matches.

“One of the venues that has been scheduled is GOR Cenderawasih APO Jayapura. However, it will be adjusted to the situation and conditions that often occur," he added.

It is known, the opening ceremony of Peparnas XVI Papua was officially opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, at the Mandala Jayapura Stadium on November 5, 2021. Whereas previously the opening ceremony was planned to be opened by President Jokowi, however, Indonesia's number one person is still undergoing a period of self-quarantine. after undergoing working visits to friendly countries.

Although he could not be present at the opening ceremony, President Jokowi took the time to deliver his remarks through a short video that was shown during the opening ceremony. At that moment, President Jokowi confirmed that he would be present at the closing of the XV Peparnas opening.

“I was going to Papua to open Peparnas, and met some extraordinary athletes. Pace, Mace and everyone, I'm sorry I couldn't attend because I had to undergo quarantine after returning from abroad," said President Jokowi in a short video at the Peparnas opening ceremony.

President Jokowi said he was optimistic that the implementation of Peparnas XVI 2021 would be successful in Papua. “And I prefer to be present at the closing, Papua is always in my heart. Thank you to the Vice President, and I am sure that Peparnas will be successful in Papua," said President Jokowi.

In line with that, the Vice President, Ma'ruf Amin also emphasized that the closing ceremony or closing ceremony would be closed directly by President Jokowi.

"Just two weeks ago I went to Papua to close the implementation of PON XX 2021. And the President opened PON XX. Currently, I am opening Peparnas XVI, later Mr. President Jokowi will close it. This is the first time this has happened in Papua and Papua is indeed special,” he concluded.

In addition to closing Peparnas, President Jokowi is also scheduled to visit Keerom Regency. According to the plan, President Jokowi will attend the launching of the corn barn in Keerom Regency.

The Regent of Keerom, Piter Gusbager, S.Hut., MUP., said that the readiness for the launching of this activity has reached 80 percent.

Regarding the agenda of President Jokowi's visit to Keerom Regency, Regent Piter Gusbager said his party had coordinated with related parties to prepare the agenda for the visit of Indonesia 1.

“The president's background on Saturday the 13th has reached 80 percent readiness. Just finishing the route and already finished with Paspampres and palace officials," he explained, Thursday (11/11).

"For the security of the route, it will start tomorrow (today) until the President returns. The point is in the PTPN 2 Workwana village on a football field, with land that has been prepared," he continued.

Piter Gusbager also admitted that he had prepared the land for the launching of the national corn barn and the simulation of planting corn in Keerom Regency.
