WAMENA YOUTH LEADERS ASK TNI-POLRI TO LIMIT SPACE AHEAD OF KNPB ANNIVERSARY

The West Papua National Committee (KNPB), chaired by Agus Kossay, is said to be an illegal organization whose existence poses a security threat to all people in Papua.
"There is no other reason, if we talk about KNPB, they are an illegal organization whose work can only cause chaos. There have been many events that have always caused fear in the community," said Meko Walilo as a youth leader in Jayawijaya Regency. (17/11)

Approaching the anniversary of KNPB, according to him, this group should receive more attention and cannot be left alone. Apart from being an organization affiliated with the separatist movement, every action held by the KNPB always has the potential to invite chaos and discomfort to local residents.

"It can't be left anymore, KNPB has no place for them now. Their actions always scare other people, other people are always at a loss if there is a KNPB association like that. Moreover, KNPB is an organization that clearly opposes the state,"

Walilo's statement was conveyed because he remembered the riots that occurred in Wamena City in 2019. The demonstration carried out by the KNPB has devastated the city and killed dozens of residents, the incident has also traumatized thousands of residents in Wamena.

"I still remember in my memory how the people (KNPB) carried out provocations until Wamena finally broke. No one can justify this action, in fact KNPB is an organization whose movements must really be restricted,"

Walilo on his occasion even urged the competent security authorities to be able to disband as early as possible any action involving the KNPB. He considered this to be effective in minimizing the occurrence of further actions that could damage peace in Papua in general.
