Bappenas RI Affirms the Acceleration of Development in Papua in accordance with the SGDs

Expert Staff to the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Oktorialdi emphasized that the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development for Papua (RIPPP) would be in line with the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

According to Oktorialdi, RIPPP will focus on five main focuses, namely human resource development (HR), economic development and community empowerment, as well as basic infrastructure development and connectivity.

"Then, sustainable environmental management and strengthening governance," he said in the Webinar "Looking at Papua 20 Years Ahead", Friday (10/12).
 
In the first focus, the SDGs that are promoted are Goal 3 of Healthy and Prosperous Life, Goal 4 of Quality Education, and Goal 5 of Gender Equality.

The second focus, the SDGs that are carried out are Goal 1 Without Poverty, Goal 2 Without Hunger, Goal 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Goal 10 Reducing Inequality, and Goal 11 Cities and Residential and Sustainable.

"In the third focus, there are Goal 6 Clean Water and Adequate Sanitation and Goal 7 Clean and Affordable Energy which we are trying to fulfill," he explained.

Then, the fourth focus is on meeting Goal 12 of Responsible Consumption and Production, Goal 13 of Addressing Climate Change, Goal 14 of Ocean Ecosystems, and Goal 15 of Land Ecosystems.

“The fifth focus is designed to meet Goal 16 of Peace, Justice and Resilient Institutions and Goal 17 of Partnerships To Achieve Goals,” he said.

Furthermore, Oktorialdi said that the seventeen goals must be developed further.

This is because the SDGs are a pattern of development that has been recognized by the world and must be relegated to local values.

"This will be a joint work on how the SDGs values ​​can be defined according to the problems in Papua," he said.
