There is only one Covid-19 patient in Jayapura City
The Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tomi Mano, said that one resident who was undergoing treatment due to exposure to the corona virus remained and is still being monitored by medical officers.
“There is one person left, namely in Awiyo Village, Abepura District. Let's continue to implement strict health protocols because Covid-19 is still around us," said Tomi Mano at the Grand Abe Hotel Abepura, Jayapura City, Papua, Monday (12/13/2021).
Tomi Mano said, the high recovery rate was due to the community in the capital of Papua Province jointly having a commitment to stop the spread of the corona virus so that all were safe and healthy.
"It's all thanks to our hard work together and the very high level of community discipline. Let's not be careless. Keep obeying the prokes because we don't know when this Covid-29 outbreak will really end. We are grateful that we are still given the breath of life to carry out our daily tasks,” said Tomi Mano.
In addition, Tomi Mano, invites residents to support and succeed in the vaccination program to maintain immunity so that they are not easily exposed to Covid-19.
“The first dose of vaccine has reached 74.8 percent, the second dose has reached 54 percent. Our target is 231 thousand and what has been achieved [vaccinated] is 137 thousand. We continue to vaccinate. My target is to end 2021 by 80 percent and even 100 vaccinations," said Tomi Mano.

The head of the Jayapura City Health Office, Ni Nyoman Sri Antari, said that the four districts in the Papuan provincial capital were already in the Covid-19 green zone, namely Muara Tami District, Heram District, North Jayapura District, and South Jayapura District.
Apart from that, said Antari, of the 25 sub-districts, there is only one kelurahan that is in the Covid-19 yellow zone, namely Awiyo Village. While the others are in the green zone. A total of 14 villages are in the green zone.
"The cumulative positive for Covid-19 in Jayapura City is 12,978 people, 12,707 people have recovered, and 270 people have died. Keep following the health protocols so that we can speed up the spread of the virus," said Antari.
Antari added that the prevention of COVID-19, such as wearing a mask, keeping a distance, washing hands with soap with running water or having a hand sanitizer, diligently exercising, staying away from crowds, and reducing activities outside the home.
