Pertamina is building an LPG station in Papua

PT Pertamina (Persero) Regional Papua-Maluku said it was building a Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) in its area.
 
Unit Manager Communication, Relations and CSR of Pertamina Regional Papua-Maluku Edi Mangun in Jayapura, Thursday, said the construction of the SPBE is planned to be completed in April 2022.
 
"The construction location is in Doyo, Jayapura Regency," he said.
 
According to Edy, his party hopes that this year the SPBE will be able to produce.
 
"If there is a SPBE, the price of LPG will be cheaper or lower than the previous price," he said.
 
He explained that LPG is transported to Papua by ship, so the retail price must be added to the shipping costs.
 
"Moreover, we import LPG from Surabaya, where if the shipping cost by ship goes up it will have an impact on the selling price," he said.
 
He added that the LPG being sold now is not subsidized LPG, so the price at the retailer level varies depending on the market mechanism.
