Jayapura Mayor Asks Tourists to Obey Prokes at Tourist Attractions



Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tomi Mano again reminded and asked Jayapura City residents, especially tourists, to continue to adhere to strict health protocols.

Benhur explained that currently the positive trend of Covid-19 continues to move up or increase.
 
"I remind all of us, the residents of Jayapura City, whom I love, to continue to apply the health procedures and continue to be disciplined, especially if this weekend is crowded with tourist objects such as beaches, please cooperate," said Benhur.

The number one person in Jayapura City also emphasized that currently his party is still focusing on overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, one of which is by boosting vaccinations.

"Prokes continue, but vaccination achievements must also continue to be improved. In the future, in the context of Jayapura City Anniversary, we will hold vaccination celebrations in each district," he concluded.

Thus, Benhur hopes that people who have not been vaccinated, both stages 1 and 2, can immediately report and are moved to be vaccinated.
 
"Let's all get vaccinated, but if we have been vaccinated, we must obey the health procedures, and always keep our immune system fit and healthy," Benhur urged.

On that occasion, the man from Port Numbay also highlighted the issue of sanctions for violating health procedures, which he said would be subject to social sanctions.

"At this time, for prokes violators, we have decided to give an effect of shame and deterrence, by punishing those who do not wear masks in public places, to hold a sign that reads OKB or Stone Head Person," he said.

Previously, it was known, based on data compiled by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force in Jayapura City as of Friday, February 11, 2022, showing the number of Covid-19 patients being treated reached 780 people.
