Kristhina RIL Mano Messages Papuan Women

Kristhina RIL Mano is a Papuan woman who received the Indonesian Women's Award (API) 2021 in the category of Leader of Women's Organizations and Sports for Papua Province from the Economi Review.

“As women, when we are in the work environment we must be professional. However, when we get home, must be aware of her role as a wife. Where we have to take care of children, husbands, and maybe grandparents from husband's parents or ourselves," he told reporters, Tuesday (1/2/2022).

The Chair of the Jayapura PKK Mobilization Team also emphasized women's understanding of their customs.

Where, even though current and future Papuan women occupy functional positions in any bureaucracy or organization, they must adhere to the norms that have passed in Papua.

Papuan culture always places women at number 2 after men. Of course it's not wrong. Because since ancient times, our cultural system has been like that. Now we just follow it according to the times.

Papuan Women are Strong and Professional

Papuan women professionals are tested while in the work environment. Where, as women, we should not feel inferior to women in other cities in Indonesia and the world.

Because we have the same opportunity to get the highest education.

"However, we cannot rule out the possibility that in today's world, the work done by women must also be carried out by men in family life, in order to create harmony as husband and wife," said the Chairman of the Indonesian Karate-DO Sports Federation (FORKI). (source. Metasatu.com).

The difference lies only in pregnancy, menstruation, breastfeeding, and raising children. The rest, Papuan women are independent and must be able to compete with men.

The proof is that currently many Papuan women occupy the highest positions in the bureaucracy, etc.

A Special Message for Papuan Women

The wife of the Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tomi Mano, advised young Papuan women to take advantage of existing opportunities.

Where, teenage girls must study seriously and open themselves to the changing times. However, Papuan youth must rely on their local culture as a support system, role model, and compass for their future journey.

This Papuan woman politician does not want young women or Papuan women to be underestimated by men.

Because we all have the same potential in the public sphere. Public space is not only for men. However, a space where everyone is free to express their talents and interests.

More precisely in the spirit of global feminism and linked with the spirit of the French revolution, namely Liberte (freedom), Egalitarian (equality), and Fraternite (Brotherhood).
