Entering the definition of terrorist, TNI and Polri asked to eradicate KKB Papua

Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR RI, Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, asked the TNI and Polri to immediately eradicate the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua.

He assessed that the KKB in Papua had entered the definition of a terrorist group, because it had spread fear and carried out systematic attacks against civilians.

Kharis also asked that the TNI and Polri could provide protection to the community, including workers who are building various infrastructures in Papua.

"Don't let an inch of Indonesian land be under the control of the separatist movement and commit atrocities against the Indonesian people," said Kharis when contacted by Parliament via telephone, Wednesday (9/3/2022).
 
"As Deputy Chairperson of Commission I of the DPR RI, I fully support the steps taken by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa, to address the KKB in Papua in a firm and measured manner, together with the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the National Police. So that we can work together to solve this problem for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," continued the politician from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
 
From January to March 2022, attacks on civilians and the military in Papua reached 13 people. Most recently, KKB attacked employees of Palapa Timur Telematics (PTT) in Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Papua, last Wednesday (2/3/2022). At least 8 people died, and 1 person was rescued.
