Papuan KKB Terrorists Get More Brutal After Rejecting TNI-Polri Peace Offers, Now Shooting Commercial Airplanes

The Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) has become increasingly brutal after attacking and killing two marines. Now, they are targeting a commercial aircraft that is allegedly used to transport TNI-Polri personnel.

The West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM) even threatened not to hesitate to shoot the commercial plane. The threat is in line with the statement by the Commander of the Regional Defense Command III TPNPB-OPM Derakma-Ndugama, Egianus Kogoya.
 
Previously, Egianus confirmed that his party was responsible for the attack at Kenyam Airport, Nduga Regency, Monday (28/3) afternoon. Egianus Kogoya said the attack at Kenyam Airport was aimed at two planes about to land.

"They (Kodap III TPNPB-OPM troops) shot two commercial aircraft," said Egianus in a statement distributed by TPNPB-OPM Spokesperson, Sebby Sembom, Monday (28/3).

The Kodap III TPNPB-OPM Derakma-Ndugama troops shot the first plane with eight bullets. While the second plane was strafed with four bullets.

"Two commercial planes, namely Trigana Air, were fired at by eight bullets and four by Alda Air," said Egianus.

Egianus stated that his troops had to shoot down the commercial plane because they believed that the two planes were carrying TNI-Polri troops. "Any civilian aircraft carrying members of the TNI or Polri must be shot," said Egianus.
 
Nduga Police Chief AKBP I Komang Budiartha confirmed the attack information from the KKB. "Yes, again in contact," he said.

Previously, Egianus Kogoya said he refused any peace or dialogue efforts. Instead, he requested the presence of a third party as an intermediary. "We ask that there should be a third party, namely the United Nations," said Egianus.

To note, recently tension in Papua has increased following the TPNPB-OPM attack on the Marine Post in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency, Papua, Saturday (26/3).

In the attack, two marines were killed and seven others were injured. The two marines, Marine Lt. Muhammad Ikbal, graduated from the AAL in 2018 or were only 22 years old.

In addition, Pratu Mar Wison Anderson Here also died in the attack.
