PLN Educate the benefits and dangers of electricity to remote communities in Jayawijaya Regency

PLN (Persero) Customer Service Implementing Unit (UP3) Wamena, Papua Province, disseminated electricity issues to people in urban areas to remote areas in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua.

SPV for Wamena UP3 System Planning, Christian, through a press release on Saturday, said that his party had just conducted electricity socialization to the people of the Melagalome District when participating in the Musrenbang in one of the villages in the area.

"Socialization is carried out as one of PLN's concerns in educating about electricity, its use in daily life and the dangers of electricity so that people can use electricity safely and comfortably," he said.

Because the people there, he continued, are not as familiar with PLN electricity as urban communities, so PLN considers it necessary to socialize.

"PLN's efforts to electrify the Melagalome District so far have finally paid off, hopefully as soon as people can feel the light around their homes," he said.

He hopes for community support so that PLN can reach 10 villages in Melagalome which have a population of 1,372 people.

"It is hoped that all communities will cooperate in this work, such as granting land to build a network and giving up so that the trees around the network are cut down so that electricity supply to residents' homes is maximized," he said.

He said it was his party's commitment to enter remote areas, as was the government's program to electrify regions to remote areas of the country.

The Melagalome Community Leader, Mattias Tabuni, expressed his gratitude to the state-owned electricity company for caring about the lighting needs of the Melagalome residents.

“People's expectations can be realized regarding the inclusion of electricity in this district. This will certainly have an impact on the progress of this district. We are all ready to help this work run smoothly,” he said.
