The Jayapura Hope Church now has a Posyandu for the elderly and youth

The Jayapura Pengharapan Church Council has a work program for health services to its congregations by establishing a posyandu for the elderly and posyandu for youth to improve health status.

"In the data, it is reported, then counseling and treatment are given so that their health can be controlled," said Deputy Mayor of Jayapura Rustan Saru after launching the posyandu at the church next to the Papuan DPR office, Friday 18/3/2022).

Rustan said, early detection of disease is safer and treatment is cheaper, than later it will be more severe, especially the elderly (elderly) are usually already vulnerable to contracting various diseases, in collaboration with the puskesmas.
 
"Health services are provided to the elderly at the posyandu for the elderly, such as checking activities of daily activities including basic life activities, such as regular eating and drinking patterns including supplementary food, and elderly activities for fitness," said Rustan.

Head of the Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria at the Papua Provincial Health Office, Berry Wopari, said services at the posyandu for the elderly and posyandu for adolescents, namely physical and mental emotional examinations, were recorded for easier monitoring as well as for early detection of the type of disease.

One of the members of the Jayapura Pengharapan Church, Maria admitted that she was happy with the posyandu because it was very helpful in early service so that prevention could be done so as to minimize the incidence of disease.

"My hope is that our congregation can take advantage of this so that this posyandu is useful and a blessing to everyone, especially those in the Jayapura Pengharapan Church," said Maria.
