Man armed with a machete attacks the Posramil Maybrat, West Papua

The Koramil Post or Posramil preparation for Mare in the Suswa village, Mare District, Maybrat Regency, West Papua, was attacked by a local resident who was known to be drunk on Sunday night, April 17, 2022. The perpetrator attacked using a sharp weapon, a machete.
 
The perpetrator was identified with the initials FN 50 years old, a resident of Nafasi Village, Mare District. The perpetrator is also the Chairman of the Village Consultative Body or Bamuskam Nafasi, Maybrat Regency.
 
"The perpetrator was successfully paralyzed with a shot in the leg because he would attack and injure the Koramil Commander using a sharp weapon," said Kapendam XVIII/Kasuari, Colonel Arm Hendra Pesireron in Sorong, Sunday night, April 17, 2022.

According to him, the incident began when the drunk driver ran to the Mare Posramil with a machete. He headed for the Posramil along with a number of other people who were also in a drunken state.
 
When the perpetrator approached the Posramil, Danposramil Letda Inf Damanik along with members who were on standby tried to give a verbal warning not to approach. The perpetrator persisted in advancing while carrying a machete, so one of the Posramil members fired the first warning shot upwards.
 
The perpetrators ignored the warning and continued to advance towards the Posramil, so they were given a second warning shot towards the ground. However, the second warning was still not heeded and the perpetrator continued to go forward and climb the steps of the post while swinging a machete at the Danramil who was approximately one meter from the perpetrator.
 
Seeing the precarious condition, Posramil members immediately took action to paralyze the perpetrator by shooting in the leg and hitting the right ankle. The perpetrator finally stopped and was taken into custody by Posramil members. Several other people who had come with the Perpetrators ended up running away.
 
After being arrested, the perpetrator was then given help to stop the bleeding. "Currently, the incident is under investigation by the authorities and the area is being guarded by the authorities so that the community remains calm and the condition of the area is conducive," he added.
