Ministry of Transportation - Pelindo Strengthen Cooperation to Increase Jayapura Port Productivity



The Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation through the Harbormaster Office and the Jayapura Class II Port Authority strengthens cooperation with PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) in order to increase the productivity of the Jayapura Port and the Eastern Indonesia Sea Toll Road.

Marked by the signing of two MoUs of Cooperation between PT. Indonesian Port Regional IV with the Harbormaster Office and Jayapura Class II Port Authority.
 
The MoU is related to the "Plan for the Utilization of Land Assets from the Reclamation of Port Ponds" and the MoU related to "Cooperation for the Operation of State-Owned Goods".

PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) was represented by Dwi Rahmad Toto as Regional Head IV and KSOP Class II Jayapura Capt Roni Fahmi, as Head of KSOP.
 
Roni said that ship visits and the level of logistics distribution for loading and unloading goods at the Jayapura Port over the last five years continued to experience a very significant increase, as in 2021 it reached 584 total calls with 4,393,246 total GRT.

So that to support port productivity, cooperation and the role of the government and port operators in innovating with stakeholders are needed to continue to improve ship and loading and unloading services to the maximum.

It was recorded that in 2021 loading and unloading activities reached 1,075,641 tons and loading and unloading reached 157,951 tons.

"Even for container services, it reaches 1,111,180 T/M³," said Roni in his official statement, Tuesday (12/4).

This of course has an impact on services such as the speed of loading and unloading services. As well as the port's ability to anchor ships safely and safely according to the ISM Code international safety standards and the ISPS Code ship and port security facility standards at the SOLAS international convention.

Roni also explained that currently Jayapura Port serves 14 districts/cities in Papua province and is the final port for ship services from west to east Indonesia.

"So with this collaboration and the use of reclaimed land, loading and unloading services will certainly increase," said Roni.

On the same occasion, Dwi Rahmad Toto also said that PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) welcomes the signing of the cooperation for the operation of the wharf and the utilization of land assets resulting from reclamation at the DLKr/DLKp of the Jayapura Port.

"This will certainly continue to improve incoming ship services and the availability and speed of time in loading and unloading services," said Rahmad.
 
Head of the Section of Sea Transport Traffic and Port Business Willem Thobias Fofid said that the increase in the productivity growth of Jayapura Port services is seen in the recapitulation of Jayapura Port production data for 2014 - 2021.

So that it has an impact and can be seen in the construction of the APBN dock by the Central Government through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation.

He said that Jetty 2 of the Jayapura Port using the APBN was built since 2013 in order to support the spirit of maritime and multimodal toll connectivity with Indonesia's vision as the World Maritime Axis.

"Wharf 2 of the APBN has been operating and today is realized with the Cooperation Agreement for the Operation of State Property in the form of a 69 mx 23 m wharf between the Kesyahbandaran Office and the Jayapura Class II Port Authority and PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero)," said Willem.
