Two Ojek Drivers Shot by KKB Papua in Puncak Jaya



Police said two motorcycle taxi drivers were shot by an armed criminal group (KKB) in the Tinggi Nambut District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua on Tuesday (12/4).
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said that one of the victims died. Meanwhile, the other one is in critical condition.

"Two victims of the shooting, who died on behalf of Soleno Lolo from a gunshot wound to the right side of the rib and the critical one on behalf of Sauku Dg Paewa suffered a gunshot wound to the head," Kamal told reporters, Tuesday (12/4).
 
He mentioned that the critically ill victims were evacuated to the Mulia Hospital for further medical treatment. Meanwhile, the police are still waiting for confirmation from the family to follow up on the bodies of the deceased.
 
According to him, most likely the body will be flown to his hometown or buried in the Puncak Jaya area.

Kamal did not give further details about the chronology of the shooting. However, the police said they were pursuing a separatist group suspected of being involved in the action.

"The perpetrators are still being investigated and information needs to be collected to find out which group carried out the violence in Puncak Jaya," he explained.
